Issues are published on a quarterly basis and content areas include profiles, photo stories, community events, product launches and featured local restaurant drink recipes. During my time working as a contributing writer I wrote articles focused on food and art.

Louis W. Parker was a problem solver who truly understood the adage that necessity is indeed the mother of invention. The renowned inventor, who created the Intercarrier Sound System, had grown weary of driving dozens of miles to see performances presented by neighboring playhouses and decided that the city of Fort Lauderdale needed to have its own theater.

If a picture really is worth a thousand words, NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale has been doing quite a bit of talking lately, thanks to Bonnie Clearwater, the museum’s director and chief curator.

Reputations are extremely important, especially for cities that wish to attract visitors. For a while, the city of Hollywood was building quite the reputation for itself—just not a very good one. Reports of a city tormented by heinous crimes and streets that were crowded by the homeless quickly spread to other cities in Florida.
Getting Juiced: Myapapaya
The owners of Myapapaya Juicery + Kitchen, Adam and Michelle Kanner, are pioneers in their own right. When they decided to open Myapapaya in its current location, no one understood why. 1040 Bayview Drive was considered cursed. None of the previous businesses in that location ever lasted very long. In fact, on the way out, the owner of the preceding business told them that they would not last more than four months. Two years later, Fort Lauderdale’s first cold-pressed juicery and kitchen has not only survived past expectancy, but it has become a thriving rendezvous for health-conscious patrons.
